Pineapple Trivia Night: A Cozy Mystery like CLUE Full of Riddles & Puzzles (Pineapple Port Mysteries Book 18) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 483 ratings

Series now optioned for television!

The Pineapple Port crew have quick minds and slow pets in the latest Pineapple Port Mystery by USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Amy Vansant.

Enter the series at any book - each is a complete standalone mystery!

Newly engaged private investigators, Charlotte and Declan, are hired to go undercover in a high-stakes trivia contest at the castle of an eccentric retired game show host. While they need the work and the price is right, thanks to a family feud, what sounds like a fun job, turns out to be jeopardy. The dress code is formal, the guest list is conniving, the castle is locked, and there's one other glaring issue...

I'll take dead guy in the hidden passageway for five hundred, Alex...

The lovebirds must enlist the help of contestants they can't trust to solve a string of riddles, puzzles, and trivia questions. Deciphering the clues to unmask the murderer and escape the castle alive will be almost as ugly as the famous owner's interior decorating style—
King Arthur meets Jimmy Buffett.

Back at the Pineapple Port retirement community, Mariska wishes Charlotte would hurry up and get home. The pet sloth she's babysitting has been kidnapped and she needs to get Sir Sleepsalot back before the owner returns, even if it means enlisting the help of Declan's crazy Uncle Seamus and tangling with one of his old girlfriends.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Pineapple Port is my go-to series when I need some me-time with a refreshing beverage and some funny old friends.” ~Julie Smith, Edgar Award-winning author of the Skip Langdon series

This book was so funny. Mariska and Darla are double trouble. This is the first book that I have read in the series, but it definitely will not be my last. Darla and Mariska remind of the male characters in the old "Honeymooners" tv show. They are so scheming so hard to mark money and failing miserably. The humor also reminds of Lucy and Ethel in "I Love Lucy". Mariska is more cautious and Darla has on wacky scheme after another. Bob's response is to be blind and deaf to whatever they do. Poor Frank, he is helpless to control the madness and he doesn't think to highly of Old Bob. Frank is like Ricky Richardo but Bob is no Fred Mertz. These characters are quirky.

I thought the author was extremely talented having two mysteries occurring in her book. Again, the cast of characters at the Zander mansion were colorful. It was obvious that Charlotte and Della were astute trivia players, the other players not very good. Charlotte and Declan were well matched. The author kept you guessing the killer's identity and there was a surprised twist in the end.

This 18th Pineapple Port Mystery has lots of action with plenty of twist and turns and humor. Charlotte and Declan are asked to go to a fancy dress party at a castle and solve a series of puzzles first so their employer can win everything in a wealthy man's will. While the craziness of that happens, Mariska and Darla have a sloth stolen, and Sheriff Frank needs to track down lemurs and a peacock. This was a hard book to put down, so much happening. It was terrific.

A sloth. lemurs. a peacock, and alligators all are part of the fun in Pineapple Trivia. I laughed and was intrigued by the mystery. I think this was the best Pineapple Port mystery yet. The movement between the adventures of Charlotte and Declan, Mariska and Darla, and Frank and Bob (a fun new addition) was not distracting as it can sometimes be. I'm ready for the next one. Thank you, Amy for a delightful evening of reading.

Another great outing with private eye Charlottes Morgan and the gang at Pineapple Port retirement community. While Charlotte and her fiancé Declan are hired to compete in o a Trivia Night contest to win an inheritance, her madcap neighbors create havoc with a trio of exotic animal thefts. The trivia night becomes a murder mystery a la Agatha Christie while the search for the stolen critters descends into hilarious insanity worthy of the Marx brothers. It’s beyond explanation, You’ll just have to read it for yourself and enjoy some laughs.

that’s saying something since I’ve enjoyed them all. It’s really two funny and exciting stories in one what with Charlotte and Declan locked in a castle with a murderer racking up the body count and Mariska and Darla trying to find their stolen sloth. And you gotta feel sorry for Frank…

I just finished reading this entire series and I really hate to see it end. I have laughed SO hard at the antics of Darla and Mariska and seen such growth in Charlotte. The characters were so wonderfully, and fully, developed by the author and I now feel, after 16 books, as if they are dear friends. I highly recommend this series for easy ,entertaining reading. I will be reading her Shee's series now!

I hate that Stephanie was killed off a couple of books ago, because her presence kept the series more interesting. The series is now too goofy and unrealistic, in my opinion. Charlotte has been living in a 55+ community for 15 - 20 years, raised by the residents, which means Frank, Darla, Bob and Mariska are no less than 70 years old (closer to 80), yet Frank is still the sheriff, and no mention of retirement, that I can recall. And an overweight 70 plus year old woman, who doesn't exercise, chases after an 18- year old male is just too ridiculous and unbelievable. I liked the idea of the trivia night in the castle, but there was too much focus on the supporting characters, as in the previous book or two. And since when has Bob turned into a simpleton, jokester? I could be wrong, because it's been a while since I've read the others, but I thought Bob was more of a grouch in the previous books. I did not like him appearing so silly in this book. Hopefully, the upcoming books are more focused on the mystery and less focused on turning Darla and Mariska into Lucy and Ethel.
